I’m a big fan of Westmoreland Nature Park. I say that as though it’s an undiscovered treasure when, in fact, it’s quite popular and crowded most of the time. It’s got a great mix of stuff for all ages, which is actually pretty rare in playspaces around here. It’s open-ended and smartly constructed. The sand area alone is a gem and gets even better once the water is turned on. Anyway, we love it and we spent the day there last week.

A quick prank
I’ve been going through old art supplies and found a paper roll that I had tucked away for some reason. It only had a smallish piece left so I traced Fern and she drew her face and clothes.
Then inspiration struck and she decided to play a prank on Nate when he got home. She tucked the paper Fern into her bed and made an iPad to really seal the deal. He went in there and talked to that fake Fern for like 10 minutes. The real Fern was overjoyed. Max grabbed the paper iPad, pushed the home button and said, “Oh, outta battery.”
